Personalized wedding items....

Since I have a son who is getting married in the spring, I thought I would play around with some items to engrave.  Well , after learning how, I think I will add them to my Etsy shop for sale. All items can be personalized for that special occasion in your life - wedding, birthday, anniversary, etc.

Laser Engraving

I recently learned how to laser engrave and cut on an Epilog Laser. What fun!  I decided to design a new line of products. With all the anger in the world "peace" seemed ideal.

 Peace, in my heart, in my home, in my world. Wouldn't that be ideal?

Fabric Rose Lampshade

I just love my rooster lamp, I found it awhile ago at one of my local thrift stores, you can see the post here. Recently I found a nice lampshade for it, again at a thrift store, kind of burlap. It looks much better than the old one I had.

I thought I would dress it up a bit with fabric roses, here's how:

First, I measured the diameter of my lampshade. Then, because I wanted my flowers to be about 3 inches wide, I divided the diameter by 3. That gave me about 13 flowers. I used an old  cream sheet I had and tore it into strips. Tearing it gives it a more shabby look.

Then I made 13 flowers. You can see how to make them here. Make sure you have extra fabric just in case you need to make more flowers.

Then, because I wanted to be able to remove the flowers if I wanted to change it, I  made a circle out of wide elastic. Make sure it fits the lampshade.

Then, just start hot gluing the flowers to the elastic while it's on the lamp.

Go all the way around and you're done. Wasn't that easy?

Scan n Cut Teddy Bear Card

My local library had a class on making a teddy bear so I thought I would check it out just for the heck of it, I didn't need a stuffed bear but I thought it might be fun. I actually had to take it home and do it  since she was having everyone sew it by hand - NO THANKS, but they did supply the materials and pattern so I can't complain.

I did think of someone I can gift it to so I made a tag 

and matching card using my scan n cut 2

and of course a matching envelope

I love how easy it is to coordinate everything with my scan n cut, see the little bear -

Create Personalized Business Accessories

I'm getting ready to launch ( or should I say "restart" ) my business. I have been working on creating a few business accessories that I will need. Super easy and fun to make.
 A few things I did order such as business cards from Vista Print and a personalized stamp from Rubberstamps, but other than that I just used my computer, printer and some basic craft supplies that I  already had and, of course, I always try to save money so my local thrift store is the best place to find things like frames, small boxes and fabric.

 I had to go with a floral theme- I just love flowers ( and this is what I chose from Vista Print for my business cards). Cute matching boxes I found at the thrift store will hold small accessories. The business card holder I found at OfficeDepot.

I found this frame at the thrift store - perfect color. I inserted a print with my business name that I will set out at shows. The pad of paper was just the right colors - another find at the thrift store - I covered the top with my own logo, it had sea shells on it, but the blue colors were another perfect match.

This frame I decorated with a flower I made using my Cricut.

I have to put tags on my items so why shouldn't they coordinate? These were fun to make using my Cricut, Scan n Cut, punches and stamps.

I had to have a tote bag to carry things in so I dressed up a plain tote using Mod Podge photo transfer. You can see how to do it here.

also when I am at shows, I thought an apron would be nice to keep things handy so I made one out of old jeans...

 the front already had pockets but I added a couple more...

for tools, scissors, paper, etc...
