Halloween Treat Bag

I mentor a sweet little 2nd grade girl once a week and I am so thankful to use my creative talents with her. The holiday time is so full of possible activities to do together. Since Halloween is coming, I made her a bag that I put some goodies in for her.

I found these adorable polka dot bags at Joann's last year at the end of the season. I think they were like 25 cents...

I used a variety of tools and brands for this. Stampin up owl punch for bat,  Stampin up bird punch for branch, scan n cut 2 for tags and words, variety of inks and embellishments.

I love when I actually have a reason to make something, don't you?
Have a fun and safe Halloween....

Laser Engraving

I recently learned how to laser engrave and cut on an Epilog Laser. What fun!  I decided to design a new line of products. With all the anger in the world "peace" seemed ideal.

Peace, in my heart, in my home, in my world. Wouldn't that be ideal?

Peace...

Fabric Rose Lampshade

I just love my rooster lamp, I found it awhile ago at one of my local thrift stores, you can see the post here. Recently I found a nice lampshade for it, again at a thrift store, kind of burlap. It looks much better than the old one I had.

I thought I would dress it up a bit with fabric roses, here's how:

First, I measured the diameter of my lampshade. Then, because I wanted my flowers to be about 3 inches wide, I divided the diameter by 3. That gave me about 13 flowers. I used an old  cream sheet I had and tore it into strips. Tearing it gives it a more shabby look.

Then I made 13 flowers. You can see how to make them here. Make sure you have extra fabric just in case you need to make more flowers.

Then, because I wanted to be able to remove the flowers if I wanted to change it, I  made a circle out of wide elastic. Make sure it fits the lampshade.

Then, just start hot gluing the flowers to the elastic while it's on the lamp.

Go all the way around and you're done. Wasn't that easy?
I love the way it turned out and it's removeable

Bring some flowers inside!

I don't have a lot of flowers that I can cut and bring in since I am in the shade but I do have a few. I really love flowers and want to enjoy them inside and out.

A simple arrangement for the kitchen:

Scan-n-Cut 2 Crate Design - Rooster Card Holder

Made a cut file using my Scan-n-Cut 2 of a cute little crate that I saw recently in a Stampin Up catalog. I changed the design a bit as to not infringe on copyright laws.

I love how the Scan n Cut 2 allows me to save it and adjust it to any size I want. This one I used to hold six 3 inch cards with matching envelopes.

I stamped the sides of the box,

draped a paper doily, added a rooster I cut using my Cricut, a red checked bow and this sweet heart that says "made with love"

I made 6 little cards with matching envelopes

I think it's a perfect gift for a friend.
